The Rotary Club of Hope Valley is a friendly, lively club, drawing members from the Hope Valley and North Derbyshire. They meet most Wednesday evenings to socialise, dine, receive guest speakers and plan their charitable fundraising events. The club has no political or religious affiliations and exists purely to bring together people who want to make a difference to the lives of others.
The Club is one over 29,000 Rotary Clubs spread over 162 countries with 1.2 million members in all.
Rotary’s strength lies in its membership, who meet every week to enjoy friendship and fellowship. In addition to meeting socially to enjoy a variety of activities and events, during 2011 the Club distributed £13,090 to 15 charities, including: Weston Park’s Teenage Cancer Unit; Whizz Kidz; Edale Mountain Rescue; the Nepal Fishtail Project; Jole Rider/Bikes4africa; Sheffield Cathedral’s Archer project, plus other organisations local to the Hope Valley such as Hope Valley College (Rotary Young Chef of the Year competition, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, etc), Hope Careline, etc. The Club plans to distribute a further £10,000 to local, national and international charities before 1st July 2012. In addition, they are dedicated contributors to Rotary International's $200 million worldwide Polio Eradication Project.
The Rotary Club's strength lies in its membership. In their attitude, their integrity and their will to contribute both time and effort for the benefit of others. Rotarians are professional men and woman who volunteer in their own communities and abroad to support education, job training and the reduction of environmental deterioration and in particular to work in those countries most in need of clean water, an end to hunger and improved health and sanitation. The Rotary Club is especially committed to the eradication of polio worldwide and Rotary International is the key private partner of the World Health Assembly in this global battle. Rotary volunteers work in over 100 countries to support childhood immunisation. Click here for more details on the polio eradication programme
The Hope Valley Rotary Club is keen to welcome new members. They are an active group, providing a fun and rewarding experience and dedicate a great deal of their collective time to supporting the Hope Valley community.

Double Rotary Celebrations at Hope Valley
The evening of Wednesday 7th December was another memorable occasion for Hope Valley Rotarians, as Angela Wardle and Lesley Kraushaar were formally ‘inducted’ as members of the Rotary Club of Hope Valley.
Angela and Lesley have attended many meetings at our Club as well as assisting members in a number of our Rotary Club’s charity fund raising events.
